Muse of Nightmares – Laini Taylor

Laini Taylor’s Muse of Nightmares is another one of those young adult sequels that the entire book community has been buzzing about since its predecessor, Strange the Dreamer, arrived. Both books have beautiful covers and stories, so in those regards, the hype is warranted.

Muse of Nightmares covers the aftermath of Strange the Dreamer, following Lazlo and Sarai as they come to terms with their new identities. Unfortunately, these identities may force Lazlo to choose between the woman he loves and the city of people he needs to protect.  And as a result of Weep’s near demise, Lazlo begins to uncover truths about the citadel that could change everything.

Taylor is known for her lyrical writing, and the covers of Strange the Dream and Muse of Nightmares match her writing style in that way. The cover of Muse of Nightmares is a gorgeous metallic purple, and it continues the imagery of birds from the previous book’s cover, making the pair look charming when they’re on the same shelf.
