New Avengers 4 details emerge for Pepper Potts and Iron Man

Theories suggest that Iron Man will wield the Proton Cannon, and new toy packaging hints that Pepper Potts could be suiting up again in Avengers 4.

As we inch ever so slowly closer to any official Avengers 4 news, such as maybe a trailer next month, the rumors, theories, and leaks keep pouring in.

For fans of Tony Stark, there are a couple new rumors going around about what is to come for the hero in Avengers 4. Tony Stark will likely be using all of his significant brainpower and resources to create weapons and technology that can help defeat Thanos. Given everything that happened in Avengers 4, including the loss of sweet, innocent Peter Parker right before Stark’s eyes, we’re sure he’s ready to go hard against the Mad Titan.

Iron Man and the Proton Cannon

Iron Man could be packing some major power in Avengers 4 if new fan theories are to be believed, furthered by a very useful set photo.

The Proton Cannon has been noted in Avengers 4 theories for some time, with fans believing it would be used by Iron Man’s buddy, War Machine. The connection comes from its appearance with War Machine in Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes Game. Plus it’s no surprise War Machine’s armor, like many others in the next film, will get some fancy upgrades to prepare for the next battle against the Mad Titan.

However, new set photos and discovered details reveal the Proton Cannon may be used by Iron Man, instead.

If we dig deeper into the history of the weapon, the Proton Cannon actually appears in a 1995 Capcom arcade game, and was used by Iron Man. The image above, shared by Instagram user geekpowerbackup, offers a movie version of the weapon and a throwback to Iron Man using it in the game.

Fans may remember seeing the weapon in the background of Infinity War during the scene where Falcon, Black Widow, and Captain America go to the Avengers compound and meet Rhodey. This may have seemed a subtle Easter Egg at the time, but the Russo Brothers sparked theories about its importance in September when they shared this cryptic message asking fans to “look hard.”

Fans have since picked up on its appearance in this photo’s background, adding more weight to the theory that this powerful weapon will be utilized in Avengers 4. If Iron Man takes up this weapon, we’re hoping it proves useful against Thanos.

Pepper Potts gets in on the action

And if Iron Man is going into battle, why not Pepper Potts? As we’ve seen, action figure packaging can very well reveal what our heroes will wear at some point in the upcoming film. For instance, we’ve seen Thor and Rocket wearing matching Avengers suits, possibly to help them as they enter the Quantum Realm.

And now, a new image (while hard to see), theorizes that Pepper Potts will appear as Rescue. The suit looks similar to how Potts appeared in Iron Man: Armored Adventures, an animated show. This would also make sense as about a year ago Gwyneth Paltrow was seen wearing a motion capture suit while on set for A4.

Once again, none of this information has been confirmed or denied by Marvel. But, we are sure that some of the rumors and theories will shape up to be true, and it’s always fun to keep guessing until we know for sure.
