Ezra Miller speaks out against the haters of Fantastic Beasts

There have been many who voiced their complaints about Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald but Ezra Miller opened up about his own ideas on Dumbledore.

We all have our opinions on the Dumbledore situation and Ezra Miller is no different. When J.K Rowling announced that our beloved headmaster was gay, fans saw him in a new light because there was a level of inclusion that the series had lacked before.

So the rumors that Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald shy away from Dumbledore’s sexuality obviously angered fans. Ezra Miller, who plays Creedence Barebone, had quite a bit to say about the issue.

"For me, personally, I find Dumbledore’s queerness extremely explicit in this film. I mean, all around. He sees Grindelwald, his young lover who’s the love of his life; he sees him in the Mirror of Erised. What does the Mirror of Erised show you? Nothing more than the most desperate desire of your heart. If that’s not explicitly gay, I don’t know what is."

Sure, Ezra has a point. But it would also be extremely important for the LGBTQ+ community to see Dumbledore as openly gay. The implications are fine but there have been other films that did that. Why not let Dumbledore be open about his sexuality?

As Ezra points out, we have to wait to see what the movie has in store for us. Maybe it’ll be more obvious but still, there should at least mention of Dumbledore’s sexuality because he has been an icon for so many years and to not address it when Warner Brothers has the option isn’t what fans really want.
