Everything we know about Lady Gaga’s engagement to Christian Carino

Lady Gaga confirmed her engagement to her boyfriend Christian Carino in a way befitting the Star Is Born actress: Get the 411 on their love story.

Lady Gaga just transformed the speculation that she and boyfriend Christian Carino were ready to get engaged into reality. It’s a romance that turns some of the charm of her new A Star Is Born film role into a love story: An unknown figure (Christian Carino) soars to fame with help from an already famous superstar (Lady Gaga).

Lady Gaga confirms engagement to Christian Carino

In an era where social media has become the typical path to announcing marvelous milestones such as engagements, Lady Gaga opted for a different approach. E! News reported Gaga kicked off her week by choosing Monday night to confirm that she and Carino are engaged.

And in typical Gaga fashion, the songstress chose the perfect avenue to share her exciting news. During her acceptance speech at Elle‘s 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration, Gaga referenced Carino as her “fiancé.”

Although the singer has sported the ring (more about that below) for awhile, she never termed her boyfriend as her fiancé until that celebration spotlight-stealing speech.

A seriously stunning engagement ring

Can we gush about that ring? Well, yes.

Even though Gaga is known for her cutting-edge style, her engagement ring speaks to her feminine side as it featured a round pink diamond circled by smaller jewels. Andrew Brown, President of WP Diamonds, spilled the details to E! News.

Brown termed the ring as “spectacular.”  The expert valued the ring as a 6 to 7 carat pink sapphire. It also boasts a halo of diamonds that total between 3 to 4 carats.

The pink sapphire is “high quality,” added Brown. He speculated that it appears to be “a Padparadscha sapphire, in which case this ring would easily retail between $300,000 and $400,000.” And for those who aren’t up on sapphires, Padparadschas are viewed as one of the most rare and unique sapphires on Earth.

Nicely done, Christian!

Lady Gaga and fiancé Christian Carino have a history

Gaga began dating Carino in the wake of her relationship with Chicago Fire actor Taylor Kinney. The singer and actor were together for five years, ending their romance in July 2016.

Ahead of Gaga’s 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, the pair were spotted for the first time being publicly affectionate, kissing and taking selfies together on the football field. That September, the singer reflected on what love means to her.

“The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall,” summed up Gaga.

Although both the singer and her boyfriend are in the entertainment industry, she’s in front of the cameras while he’s behind the scenes as a Hollywood agent. His list of contacts is like a who’s who in the music industry, including Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Lopez.

Why we can’t wait to see Lady Gaga’s wedding dress

No word yet on exactly when Gaga and her fiance will tie the knot. But it’s always fun to speculate about romantic wedding details ranging from the designer of her wedding dress to the wedding party.

Gaga is known for statement-worthy fashion (remember her meat dress at the 2010 VMAs?). But when she stepped out at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event, she made a statement like never before.

The singer chose an over-sized suit, complete with baggy pants. In her speech, Gaga explained that she opted for the Marc Jacobs’ suit.

"In this suit, I felt like me today. In this suit, I felt the truth of who I am well up in my gut. And then wondering what I wanted to say tonight become very clear to me. As a sexual assault survivor by someone in the entertainment industry, as a woman who is still not brave enough to say his name, as a woman who lives with chronic pain, as a woman who was conditioned at a very young age to listen to what men told me to do, I decided today I wanted to take the power back. Today I wear the pants."
