Maisie Williams celebrated her final Game of Thrones scene with sake

Although she didn’t say what her final scene was, specifically, Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams did tell us how she marked it afterwards.

As we march ever closer to the debut of Game of Thrones season 8, more details are emerging from actors about how they said goodbye to the show. Next up on the list is none other than Maisie Williams, who actually revealed a little more than most about what her last scene and its aftermath was to The Guardian.

Apparently, she treated herself to sake and a “fancy meal” afterwards. What a way to mark the end of an era in your life, right? She did also mention that she made a speech, and though she didn’t reveal the contents, she said that she hadn’t really put something together beforehand. Honestly, that seems right in line with what we’ve learned about her through the years, and we definitely won’t knock her choice in alcohol.

But perhaps more interesting was what she was able to say about what scene she finished her shooting schedule with. Of course, she didn’t describe anything like plot relevance, because we’re pretty sure the entire cast has been told to watch what they say, lest we and fans around the world immediately start speculating.

With all that in mind, though, she did say something: “I ended on the perfect scene. I was alone — shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone.”

As always, it’s important to know that the show is shot out of order. What was her final scene for filming may not have been for the final episode or anything like that. In other words, don’t start up your Arya is the only Stark who survives theories just yet.

But there’s a reason she called it “perfect.” As she said, Arya spends quite a bit of her time in the series by herself, cut off from family, friends, and allies. Although she’s back in Winterfell as of season 7, she still spends time alone there as well — breaking into bedrooms and the like. Could we see her reprise that to try and get some additional insights into people like Daenerys Targaryen?

After all, even though she and Sansa know Littlefinger isn’t the greatest ally, it still takes them figuring things out together to actually get rid of him for good. Now that Sansa knows some of what her sister is capable of, we could easily see her sending Arya on a solo mission to learn more about other new and suspicious allies.

But that’s just one idea. Perhaps at the end of it all, Arya goes off alone again. If you want to get in the conspiracy level, perhaps another of the Faceless Men kills her and takes her face, wearing it to escape Winterfell. What we’re saying is that this could go anywhere, as could Arya’s story as a whole.

After all, she also mentioned that we’ll likely get to see more of her in this season, before quickly attributing it to there being less of a cast now — and thus more screen time to go around. Sure, there’s a practical explanation, but there’s no denying that Arya’s a fan favorite character. Why wouldn’t she get one last time to shine?

Next. Kit Harington is playing things close to the chest, thank you. dark
