Crazy Ex-Girlfriend preview: Patton Oswalt returns to West Covina

It seems as if Paula’s dating life is coming back to haunt Rebecca and her friends as Castleman (and therefore Patton Oswalt) return to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Whoever thought that Castleman would return to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? Well, probably Patton Oswalt but the show is bringing back one of Paula’s failed attempts at dating this season! While we don’t know where Rebecca stands with her friends or with Nathaniel, we do know that she is now emboldened to try and live a life that uses her privilege for good.

Maybe Rebecca and her friends find themselves in a situation that requires Castleman in doing that but at least we know that he’s still just as weird as before.

This final season is truly sending Rebecca on a new journey as she is attempting to change a lot of different aspects of her life all at once. Hopefully, the show returns to last season’s storyline of Rebecca finding herself through her own mental health.

It was finally addressing some of the issues that Rebecca caused and having her look into herself to figure out why she was lashing out the way that she was. That being said, she also was coping with her diagnosis. So far this season, we’re shown that Rebecca all but forgot about that and is back to her outrageous acts to display her issues.

Case in point: Rebecca going to jail just because. There wasn’t any real reason that Rebecca went to jail, they admitted that Trent had nothing on her but she was determined to go because she felt like it was her repentance. Rather than, you know, telling those that she’s hurt that she was sorry.

There is even a point in the episode where Paula pleads with Rebecca, telling her she forgives her and to stop acting this way and demanding she goes to jail. Obviously, by the end of the episode, that was all finished and Rebecca was back home with no job and telling Nathaniel that she didn’t want to run away on a trip with him.

So maybe she did start to learn something from her doctor last season? The old Rebecca probably wouldn’t have turned down Nathaniel and would have abandoned everyone who stood by her side to go on a sex vacation with her hot kind-of boyfriend.

While the preview shows Rebecca, Paula, and the gang seemingly up to their old tricks, hopefully, it is just part of this spooky episode that may or may not have a seance in it? Crazy Ex-Girlfriend may be coming to an end but at least we know that Rebecca and her friends are going to go out with the biggest bang you ever heard. And just maybe they try to talk to the dead, which wouldn’t be too far off from the things Rebecca tries to do.
