Michael will continue to recruit bloodthirsty allies in this week’s episode of Supernatural.

The preview trailer for the second episode of the new season entitled “Gods and Monsters” shows both our heroes and villains busy at work. Sam and his team, consisting of Castiel, Bobby and Mary, are doing what they do best preparing weapons and raring to hunt some bad guys. Are they continuing to track down Dean, who is still possessed by the archangel Michael, or are they hunting something else?

Dean’s persona did not make an appearance in last week’s episode, seemingly completely under Michael’s control. It’s possible we could start to see Dean’s spirit fight back this week and begin to overtake the angel fighting for power in his body, especially when he realizes that Michael wants to start working and experimenting with monsters.

The first episode of season 14 revealed that Michael is planning on working alongside vampires, potentially in a bid to gain power through a mass of flesh-eating soldiers. Though it was previously unknown whether the archangel solely wished to utilize vampires or whether he would branch out to other paranormal monsters, the trailer for the new episode confirms Michael will also be discussing business with werewolves.

The trailer shows Michael, dressed in a striking bowtie and tux, flirting with a woman. This new character is then revealed to be a sharp-toothed werewolf. Similar to vampires, werewolves hunt humans; however, they eat their victim’s flesh rather than drink their blood. Nevertheless, both of these species of monster share the same lust and addiction to eat, which will most likely be the reason why the creatures agree to work with Michael as he tempts and promises them with food.

Will Michael stop at werewolves or will he continuing enlisting new monsters like shapeshifters, ghouls, wraiths, djinns — the list is actually endless which is what makes the whole situation more threatening. If Michael gains dominion over all species of monsters, he would overpower hunters and humans. How long before Sam and the gang discover his plan?
