Why does Harry Potter never change his glasses?

You’d think that Harry Potter would change his glasses to try and look like a different person when he gets older but, as we see in Cursed Child, he doesn’t.

Harry Potter is that kind of guy who has a look and stays with it. What’s great about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is that Harry shows up and he is wearing his round glasses with his hair just as crazy as always.

So we, the audience, are lead to believe that, throughout all these years, Harry hasn’t changed a thing about himself. Think about it, from 18 years old to 37 years old, he would have looked different. We look different from year to year so it is hilarious that Harry stuck with a look that worked for him and ran with it.

Hermione grew and learned how to manage her looks, Ron started to look more mature and change himself. Harry though? Round glasses, wild hair, but now, he’s in a suit. No matter what, he’s always going to have that hair and those glasses. Which is fine but also if he doesn’t want to be that famous, why wouldn’t he change his look?

Taking off his glasses and making himself look different would mean that less people would recognize him. But it is Harry and he’s too worried about making the world a safer place. He can’t be bothered with changing his glasses to fit a new look.

Maybe we’ll see something soon with a new Harry look but, for now, it is fun to think about how Harry has always been our round glasses wearing fave!
