4 worst-case scenarios for Scarlet Witch in Avengers 4, if things really ‘get worse’

Marvel fans should brace themselves for Avengers 4 as Elizabeth Olsen warns that things are only going to get worse.

Even though Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch was one of the many characters to die at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it’s already been made clear that she is reprising the role in Avengers 4. This isn’t that surprising as most people have assumed that most of the characters who died in Infinity War will return in one way or another.

While the plot of Avengers 4 is being kept quite secret, Olsen revealed that things will actually get worse for our heroes.

During her appearance at ACE Comic Con in Chicago this past weekend, Olsen was on a panel along with Tom Hiddleston. During the panel, Hiddleston said, “The thing you have to do at the end of Infinity War is a kind of sacrifice and arguably Loki makes a similar one.” Olsen added, “It’s only going to get worse.”

She wasn’t completely clear whether she meant for her own character or for all of the heroes, but it’s most likely the latter as the two were talking about Loki, too. Also, it’s hard to see how things could get any worse for just Scarlet Witch, specifically since both she and Vision are dead.

This is a somewhat terrifying notion for fans as things were already pretty bad at the end of Avengers 4 with more than half of the cast of heroes being turned to dust or dying at the hands of Thanos more literally.

So, what are some ways that things could get worse in Avengers 4? It’s not fun to think about, but, as we don’t have too much to go off of from official sources, speculation can be fun.

The characters who died in Infinity War will not return.

Many people have theorized that most of these characters will return, figuring that heroes left alive such as Iron Man and Captain America will find a way to resurrect their pals with the use of the Soul Stone. It would be pretty bad if this was not the case. If all of those characters do not return and essentially, are dubbed officially gone forever, the world of the MCU would be even bleaker.

More characters in the MCU die.

This is another fear for many fans. With actors like Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. having their contracts fulfilled, many are wondering if one or both of their characters will fall in Avengers 4. Having one or both of the two main characters in the MCU die would be pretty bad, and it would be even worse if it happened alongside the deaths from the previous film.

Wanda has to witness (again) the deaths of her loved ones.

Time travel has been a huge theory for Avengers 4. Set photos plus fan speculation have fueled the idea that Tony Stark and the rest of those who survived will utilize the Time Stone to go back and undo most if not all what Thanos did with a snap of his fingers. However, if time travel does come into play, poor Wanda may have to relive the deaths of her brother, Quicksilver, and her lover, Vision.

The Avengers have to face another villain as well as Thanos.

There have been some rumors already that our heroes will find themselves facing a new villain alongside the infamous Thanos. Thanos is already a lot to take on, and our beloved Avengers and extended company didn’t beat him last time. So, if there are even more villains to face in the next movie, we’re concerned our favorites will find themselves in a real mess.
