American Horror Story: What we want from the Murder House episode

Get ready, American Horror Story fans! Jessica Lange is returning and being featured in an extra-long episode that will bring back the Murder House.

This season of American Horror Story has been full of returns of many favorite actors and characters from the series. It’s been exciting to see many of the witches from Coven make their return, including Cordelia Foxx, Queenie, and Madison Montgomery. The ending of episode 5 teased a return to another season, too.

It looks like we will finally be returning to the Murder House from season 1, and we will likely be seeing the return of Jessica Lange, one of the main stars of the series, as well as Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott.

The three will make their franchise return, the first time since season 1 for Britton, and fans can rejoice as this episode is going to be the longest episode of Apocalypse up to this point.

The episode called “Return to Murder House,” will be 1 hour and 18 minutes long. This information comes from a spokesperson from FX who talked to TheWrap. The actual runtime of the show, minus commercials, will be 55 minutes and 1 second. (Most episodes of American Horror Story are between 40-42 minutes without commercials.) Next week’s episode is supposed to finally deliver on what fans have been expecting: a Coven and Murder House crossover, just like Ryan Murphy promised.

Another exciting fact about this episode is that it will be directed by Sarah Paulson. We will also see Taissa Farmiga again back as Violet Harmon. Farmiga has already been playing her character Zoe from Murder House, so, she will be one of the many actors and actresses to play multiple roles this season.

With this extra long episode, the show will be able to explore more interactions between characters and hopefully unravel some more mysteries. The end of Murder House left us with the Harmons as ghosts in the house. What more of their story is left to be told? How much has Langdon interacted with his mother over the years? What about his father, Tate Langdon? What does Michael know about him, and what is their relationship like?

Perhaps most interesting, though, is the return of Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon, Tate’s mother and Michael’s grandmother. We hope that the episode will actually cover what happened to her in the interim, since we know that Michael ended up living with the original Miriam Mead, not Constance.

Cordelia has sent Madison to the Murder House to learn more about Langdon’s past, and we can’t wait to see what she and the warlock Andre find out.

Are you excited to return to Murder House? What character’s return have you been most excited about this season?
