One fan decodes what Mark Ruffalo was saying on Jimmy Fallon

One fan thinks they have figured out what Mark Ruffalo was saying in his interview with Jimmy Fallon about the Avengers 4 title.

One of the great things about being a nerd is being pretty extra about things. Fans are always doing the most to figure out clues and mysteries in Marvel movies, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you’ll remember, earlier this week there was a rumor that Avengers 4 was going to be called Avengers: Annihilation. After that rumor, Mark Ruffalo appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and let the Avengers 4 title “accidentally” slip.

This was clearly a marketing stunt of some kind as Mark Ruffalo and the Russo Brothers interacted about the slip up on Twitter. Then, in the actual clip of the interview, whatever Ruffalo was saying was bleeped out.

But, as always, fans aren’t going to let this be good enough. One Twitter user (as found by CBR.com), used a spectrogram editor to reveal what Ruffalo was actually saying. According to this user, Ruffalo is saying “The Last Avenger.”

Now, keep in mind, this might not even be the real title. It could just be a filler that he said on the show. Or, it could also just be what this particular user found. Maybe he didn’t even say that at all.

This is still not an official title announcement. And we’re not sure if it’s a great title if true. If it is, things might not be looking so great for Steve Rogers, as many fans are already worried about whether or not he will survive. They have been especially concerned after Chris Evans made what sounded like a farewell post on Twitter after wrapping filming on Avengers 4. And, as we all know, the first Captain America movie was called The First Avenger.

The title would be very obvious though if they intend to kill Steve Rogers. But, it could refer to another Avenger such as Tony Stark, and be a play on words. We will just have to wait for the official announcement to know what the title is for sure.
