David Harbour agrees to officiate a wedding as Hellboy if he meets this devilish retweet goal
David Harbour agrees to officiate a fans Wedding in Hellboy gear should he reach his retweet goal. Should Hellboy’s creator Mike Magnolia agree to read a poem at the wedding, the gauntlet requirement will be reduced. Will this fan get the Hellboy wedding of their dreams?
David Harbour is doing a lot of work at weddings lately, and it’s got nothing to do with Stranger Things or his upcoming film, Hellboy. The actor, who is ordained to officiate weddings, has us seriously wondering if he will leave the glamorous acting life to start his own wedding business.
Harbour has put out yet another challenge via Twitter promising to officiate a wedding in full Hellboy costume if he reaches the ambitious and creepy goal of 666,000 Retweets. Harbour had requested an idea for a challenge to close out the year since his social media stunts have become his thing.
A fan who had met Harbour on the set of Hellboy quickly responded with a request to have the Hellboy actor at his wedding in March. Harbour is Hellboy in the upcoming reboot that will be in theatres April 12. The two destined to get Harbour’s help are SYFY WIRE’s Carly Lane and ComingSoon.net’s Spencer Perry (the one who reached out to him), and they’ve been running a serious Twitter campaign to make sure Harbour’s tweet reaches 666,000 retweets.
The March wedding works with Harbour’s schedule, and to sweeten the pot: he also promised to knock off the need for 500,000 of those retweets should fans be able to rouse Hellboy creator Mike Magnolia to join in the fun and say a poem at the wedding.
Apparently, the Hellboy creator is on board for this because he retweeted the challenge. Harbour joked that it will be hard to get Hellboy ordained by a Christian church, but that won’t be a problem with Harbour in the suit.
The challenge is still ongoing. But should they pull off this challenge, these fans will have the privilege of having Hellboy and his creator at their wedding, and they would be the envy of hardcore Hellboy fans everywhere.
As previously noted, it isn’t the first time that Harbour has volunteered to do wedding duties. The whole reason why the man is licensed in the first place is because a fan asked back in January if Harbour could officiate her wedding in September.
Harbour agreed to the challenge, should he be able to reach 125,000 retweets… and he only signed on if he could also have the first slice of cake, which the eager bride agreed to. The challenge was met, and the deal was sealed. Not only did Harbour show up to the wedding a month ago licensed and ready to wed, but he showed up in his Chief Hopper uniform from Strangers Things, too.
Here’s hoping that officiating weddings is just a side gig and we don’t lose Harbour to the wedding industry.
