American Horror Story: Apocalypse: Boy Wonder leaves the world in Cordelia’s hands

The fifth episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse, “Boy Wonder,” leaves the fate of the world in Cordelia’s hands.

Last week, AHS answered some questions and showed us more about the warlock school that became Outpost Three. We learned that Michael Langdon was trained there and that he was powerful, but terrifying to some of the other warlocks. We also found out that the warlocks wanted to have him perform the Seven Wonders and take over as Supreme but that Cordelia was not having this.

The episode set up a witches vs. warlocks story and gave us more insight into how Michael Langdon came to be who he is today.

The next episode, “Boy Wonder,” looks like it will focus on Cordelia and the conflict between her and Langdon again.

The synopsis for the episode on the IMDB page reads,

"After witnessing the Apocalypse, Cordelia must act quickly to stop Michael or face the end of days."

While we know that the apocalypse already did happen as we’ve been seeing it for the past few episodes, it sounds like we are going to get more backstory and flashbacks to fill in the blanks as to what the coven’s been up to. It’s also possible that with magic involved, time travel or a reversal of the apocalypse might happen at some point in this season.

This preview also focuses on Cordelia, and we see her prophecy of the apocalypse. She says that the only hope of their survival rests on her shoulders. We already know that she doesn’t succeed, but it will still be intriguing to see how everything went down. It’s hard not to root for Cordelia even knowing the outcome.

AHS Apocalypse airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
