Jamie Parker brought up both Sirius Black and Remus Lupin at NYCC

As if we weren’t already crying, Jamie Parker brought up Harry’s connections to both Sirius Black and Remus Lupin and obviously, we got emotional.

At the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child panel, Jamie Parker had quite a lot to say about the relationships that Harry has in his life. More specifically Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. Sirius was referenced when Jamie Parker brought up the fact that Harry was constantly running back to save him, even as an adult.

No matter what, he always wanted to go back and save Sirius because it was weighing on him. As if that wasn’t enough of a punch to the gut, Jamie brought up the fact that Harry would probably teach Defense Against the Dark Arts but it wouldn’t be because it would be the easy option. Rather, he would choose it because he would want to honor Lupin.

Again, it just felt like a continual punch to the gut while we were staring at the man who was bringing Harry Potter to life night after night. But to see how much Jamie Parker clearly loves Harry and his journey makes it very clear that he understands where this character is mentally.

It is so surprising that he brought up these characters without prompting because, so often, they’re not really two that everyone instantly brings up. Sure, they’re fan favorites, but for Jamie to recognize their importance in Harry’s life is incredible.

We know that Harry Potter is in good hands with Jamie Parker and who knows, maybe we can get his version of a story where all Harry does is talk about Sirius and Remus and how amazing these two men were to him.
