After another two-night extravaganza, the top tier is pretty well set on this season of Dancing with the Stars. Who’s up and who’s down this week?

The second half of Dancing with the Stars‘ second week saw some patently goofy costumes to celebrate Las Vegas Night. Also, Bruno Tonioli was wearing a bedazzled suit jacket.

Yes, Tom Bergeron had some things to say about what everyone was wearing, but we’ll keep our comments to this note. (Okay, we do want that jacket, though.) Len Goodman and Carrie Ann Inaba also had a lot to say on this week, and their comments, as well as the scores given out over both nights and just a bit of an eye test, have determined our power rankings now that week 2 of this season is in the books.

The first night’s scores are listed first; the second night’s scores are second.

Eliminated: Danelle Umstead and Artem Chigvintsev (18; 19)

It took some time to get this quickstep going, which Len naturally called out, but when it did, Danelle Umstead seemed to rise to the challenge. To be fair, she did have Donny Osmond singing her “Luck Be a Lady.” This reviewer spotted a few missteps at the very end, but when she was on, she did well. “It looks like you enjoyed yourself!” Bruno said, finally calling it “well-played.”

Her improvement was small, but it was significant. It’s a shame that she was eliminated, because she was settling into everything.
