The Good Place: Michael’s schemes may be falling apart
It’s not an episode of The Good Place if Michael’s plans don’t have problems. This week, he looks to keep his schemes moving in a positive direction.
Last week’s episode of The Good Place had a fifth member of Team Cockroach showing up to join their fold. And no—it wasn’t Derek!
It was The Bad Place’s Trevor! Incognito and forgotten from memory wipe after memory wipe, he’s back! And not in pog form!
This is a big problem for The Good Place and our loyal crew. Trevor showing up can only be a serious issue for this bet with the Judge.
Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode of The Good Place, courtesy of NBC:
"Michael’s grand scheme hits an unexpected snag and forces him to take drastic measures."
Yeah, that doesn’t sound good for Trevor showing up, because there is always that possibility that he’s also somehow memory-wiped and completely innocent.
The Good Place likes to throw curve balls like that. It wouldn’t surprise me if this week’s episode makes it so that Trevor doesn’t know where he’s from. And Michael wouldn’t know that he doesn’t know who he is, so he’d pull out some harebrained scheme to save his four friends… and get caught in the act.
Or maybe he’s just a human who really had a near-death experience. Michael might just be taking his appearance as another factor working against him, because the world really is a crazy place. And it likes to work against us all from time to time. That could just be what’s happening — and the universe is actively working against Michael.
Maybe it’s time for Janet to come to the rescue for a change!
The Good Place airs Thursdays on NBC.
