Hellboy unveils its first poster heading into New York Comic Con
We finally have our first poster from the upcoming Hellboy reboot, and now we know what David Harbour will look like as our favorite big red demon.
New York Comic Con kicks off on October 4, and the new Hellboy movie has a dedicated panel at the convention where they will reveal more information to the fans. But leading up to NYCC, fans were treated to the first poster for the movie, with the titular character, this time played by David Harbour, front and center.
Unlike the Hellboy we have seen before, this time around it looks like things are starting off pretty demonic. In previous films, we have seen the character with his horns filed down to nothing more than nubs. And while other images from the film show that we will see this again, in the official poster for the movie, his horns are all grown out.

Having his horns on full display means that Hellboy is going to be channeling his inner demon more than ever before. Considering he is usually fighting against his demonic nature, and rebelling against what some might say is the destiny of a demon, seeing his horns grown out is concerning, if not interesting.
According to Entertainment Weekly, this makes sense when you consider that the storyline for the movie sees Hellboy taking on a sorceress who is out for revenge against all of humanity. The sorceress is said to be ancient. We think she likely has a lot of power behind her, which means Hellboy will need to channel all of his demonic powers when coming up against her.
While this is all we know about the new movie starring David Harbour, this poster gives us a bit more to work off of thanks to the horns on full display, Hellboys’ sword at the ready and even the flames that are dancing around him. Here is a powerful hero who chooses to work for good, rather than what he was created for — the destruction of the world.
Though the poster only shows us what David Harbour looks like as Hellboy channeling some of his demonic abilities, it is enough to have fans ready for more. Luckily we will get more information once the film’s panel at NYCC rolls around.
Hellboy is scheduled to debut in theaters on April 12, 2019, which means there is still some time before we see the demonic hero in action. For now, we will have to wait for more teasers, posters, and information coming out of NYCC to learn what we can expect from David Harbour’s Hellboy.
