Chris Evans, Lana Del Rey aren’t impressed with Kanye West’s pro-Trump tweets

After Kanye West’s Saturday Night Live performance, he shared his support of Trump on Twitter. Chris Evans and Lana Del Rey weren’t having it.

Chris Evans is known for playing Captain America in the MCU, and also for having a lot of things to say about Trump and American politics on his Twitter.

He is not shy about posting about these topics and has called out Trump and others many times for their problematic behaviors. Thus over the weekend, Evans had some things to say to Kanye West.

This all started when Kanye, who is now going by YE we guess, posted a picture of himself on Twitter wearing his make America Great Again hat. As you might be aware, Kanye has become a pretty big Trump supporter in the past few months. In the tweet, he praises Trump and says that Trump will abolish the 13th amendment.

The 13th amendment, if you need a refresher, abolished slavery and involuntary servitude in 1865. But, it still allows for prisoners to be used for slave labor. Many people were confused by this tweet. At first, some thought this meant Kanye supported slavery of some kind, but it seems he actually meant getting rid of the part about prisons still being allowed to use people for labor. Does Kanye really think that Trump is going to abolish prison slave labor?

Chris Evans, who famously does not like Trump at all, had some words for Kanye West on Twitter.

Evans did not hold back, and his response comes off as scathing and measured. Wow, Chris, we might have to look up some of those words in a dictionary.

There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as a virtue. The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying.

Evans wasn’t the only person to call him out either. Lana del Rey also posted a response to Kanye’s Instagram account.

On his Instagram post, Lana commented:

"Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture.I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of Grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism – none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country. If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the p-ssy just because he’s famous-then you need an inervention as much as he does- something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue.Message sent with concern that will never be adressed."

It’s good to know that in the crowd of noise, there are people like Evans and Lana Del Rey to speak a bit of sense into this world. Maybe Kanye meant well. But it’s not what he meant to say, it’s what he did say that caused the most harmed.
