Harry Potter in Cursed Child is my favorite version of the character

We all love our own versions of Harry Potter. Whether it is him as a kid or fighting Voldemort, we love him with all our hearts and he’s the best.

Look, we all have our favorite Harry Potter. For me? It’s the Harry we get to meet in Cursed Child. I’ve always loved how dramatic he is, how he isn’t afraid to lash out and share what he’s feeling. With Cursed Child, he does that and more.

Harry is so afraid of losing his son and trying to figure out what is going on in the wizarding world that he snaps at those closest to him, including his son, Albus. Maybe it is just that this Harry is closer to my own age that I liked seeing him as an adult.

The last time I saw Harry, we were the same age but as I grew, the movie version of my favorite character didn’t. With Cursed Child, it was a new way of seeing him closer to where I was in my own life.

That’s what is so great about the Harry Potter series. For most of us, we grew up as Harry did. We were the same age, we went through the same things together and it is just fitting to see that he is still struggling with who he is, even as an adult with a job and a family.

Maybe that’s why Cursed Child is my favorite Harry. He is still so human in how he reacts to the things going on in his life. Whether it is his fights with his friends or trying to do what is best for his son, he is just trying to get through life.
