Emma Caulfield – Anya

Her place in the Buffy-verse: Emma Caulfield played Anya, the ex-demon who wanted to fit in among the humans. She didn’t quite have command of human nature just yet, and often came off cold, clueless, and without much compassion. Although she took a beat to learn how to mingle among the mortals, she eventually got the hang of it, striking up a relationship with Xander.

Anya, as a former vengeance demon, had a quick temper and was seemingly always jonesing to exact a punishment on dim-witted lovers. In a bit of irony, she fell in love with Xander, who the man she was sent to destroy, but was stripped of her powers by a bizarro Giles before she got the chance. It was a lucky break for everyone – mostly.

Her post-Buffy career: Immediately after Buffy,  Caulfield had a hard time finding a vehicle to match her talents. She bounced between guest-starring roles until she landed a recurring role as Emma Bradshaw on the short-lived CW show Life Unexpected. She didn’t really get feet under until her turn as the Blind Witch on the ABC juggernaut, Once Upon a Time.

Where is she now? Most recently, she’s showing up on some of the most popular series on TV. She did a stint on Supergirl, as well as Fear the Walking Dead. She also lent her voice to a string of episodes for the animated series Fantasy Hospital as Nurse Misty Windham.
