Marc Blucas – Riley

His place in the Buffy-verse: Marc Blucas played the vanilla-soldier-turned-super-weapon and Buffy’s most bland love interest. Although the show continued to try to make him happen, audiences couldn’t really get on board with such a straight arrow, good guy for our beloved slayer.

Even though Riley did and said all the right things on paper, there was not a whole lot of chemistry between the two. They couldn’t even muster up any heat while they were keeping giant secrets from each other, and the writers eventually got the hint.

His post-Buffy career: Riding high on his Buffy recognition, he starred in a handful of movies, including the cutesy rom-com, First Daughter, opposite Katie Holmes. He has that hunky male love interest kind of face, and parlayed that into parts in The Jane Austen Book Club and USA’s Necessary Roughness.

Where is he now? Blucas has carved quite the nice career for himself in holiday movies for Lifetime and Hallmark. Most recently, his jawline appeared in Season for Love, and it was delightful and heart-warming, exactly what you’d expect from this kind of movie. However, he took on a grittier role in AMC’s edgy Dietland and has the chops to do more like it.
