Although Kit Harington did say what he’s kept from the Game of Thrones set, that was all the season 8 detail he provided in a new interview.
If there’s anyone who knows almost everything that will happen in Game of Thrones season 8 that isn’t part of the production staff, it’s probably Kit Harington (or Emilia Clarke). However, he’s very aware that he knows all of these things, so he seems to have other details that he can share.
When he was speaking to Men’s Journal (with an additional hat tip to Watchers on the Wall), both were on prominent display. Let’s talk about the little trivia tidbit that definitely won’t show up years down the line at some con quiz or fan quiz. We’ll even phrase it in a question for you: After Game of Thrones finished, what did Kit Harington take?
Answer: “ of the armor that I use for Jon Snow’s outfit, like the wrist protectors I’ll wear in his costume. I thought those were pretty cool.” We’ll also accept “gauntlets,” as that’s probably what he’s referring to.
(Would you get bonus points for saying that he dubbed them “pretty cool”? That has to count for something, right?)
When it came to talking about season 8, though, he said, “I don’t want anything to get taken wrongly.” Considering that Sophie Turner just had her own experience with how quickly a few words can get fans theorizing (one which WOTW also addresses in its writeup), we can’t really blame him.
But with all that in mind, he did note that he can’t discuss the tone of the season, even just to call it “exciting.” Frankly, that much is obvious, even before you get into the rumors of what’s going on in season 8. As he pointed out, he also does eventually have to figure out what he’s allowed to say, because 2019 (like winter) is coming.
Here’s hoping he has more than exciting to say then.
