Chris Evans is headed to TV for Apple’s thriller Defending Jacob

Chris Evans is set to produce and star in a new thriller for Apple called Defending Jacob just as his run as Captain America supposedly comes to an end.

While fans wait to see the fate of Captain America in Avengers 4, Chris Evans is keeping busy with his career. As far as we know, Avengers 4 will be the last Marvel movie Evans appears in as Steve Rogers. But that doesn’t mean fans of Chris Evans will be seeing the last of him as an actor.

While Cap fans wait and worry, Chris Evans is moving forward with his career. He will star in as well as executive produce a TV series called Defending Jacob. This show will be a limited series based on a 2012 best-selling novel by William Landay. The story is about a lawyer whose son gets arrested for stabbing his classmate, and his father who takes shocking measures. The series will be made by the latest tech giant to get into the original content realm, Apple.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this will be his first major role on a TV series since 2001 when he starred in The Opposite Sex miniseries. This isn’t the only project he has coming up either. He is also set to star in Devil All the Time, a post-World War II drama which will star Civil War and Infinity War co-star Tom Holland.

This won’t be the first time Evans has worked as a producer. Previously, he’s been a producer on the films Before We Go and Playing It Cool. The multi-talented actor also directed and starred in Before We Go.

Other films he will be appearing in include Greenland and Jekyll, which are both in pre-production — so it looks like Evans will definitely be keeping busy. We are excited to see him in other roles, even if it means he has to hang up the shield.

Defending Jacob is set to release sometime in 2019. Are you excited about seeing Chris in these upcoming projects?
