Chilling Adventures of Sabrina taking a leaf out of Harry Potter’s book

The character bios for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina are out and there’s a trio of teenagers who are very much like Draco Malfoy. Is the show taking a leaf out of the Harry Potter books?

You may not have been keeping up with the upcoming Netflix Original Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but there does seem to be a Harry Potter link. And we’re not just talking about the use of magic and a Dark Lord trying to take over the world. It’s all because of three teenage witches.

In the character bios, there are three witches nicknamed “The Weird Sisters,” who look down on Sabrina. Why? Because she’s half-human. This made me immediately think of Draco Malfoy and other Slytherins.

More from Harry Potter

Harry Potter focused on some believing full-blooded witches were the more superior. Of course, half-bloods and muggle-born witches soon proved that they could be just as, if not more, powerful than the full-bloods, but it was an archaic, bigoted view that was prevalent throughout the books.

Now we’re getting it again in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. We’ll see these three witches, The Weird Sisters, believe that they’re better than Sabrina because they’re full-blooded witches. They have no human element. Of course, the likelihood is that Sabrina will prove to be the more powerful of the lot. Her human half will give her an inner-strength or prove that it isn’t the weakness everyone believes it to be.

There’s a connection to race in here, similar to that of Harry Potter. What’s inside doesn’t matter. It’s training, practice, and who you are that matters. It wouldn’t be surprising if there were more Harry Potter connections throughout the upcoming Netflix Original.
