Hello Kitty opened its first full cafe in California, and it’s purrfectly pink

Well, Hello Kitty! The meow-worthy company has opened a full cafe in California, fulfilling our feline dreams (in pink, of course).

Hello Kitty fans warning: You may be overcome with OMG levels of cuteness when you see the Hello Kitty cafe photos (because, well, kitties + pink + character mini-cakes is just too, too, TOO adorable!).

Just opened in Irvine, California, the Hello Kitty Grande Cafe has become the first of its category in the United States, according to NBC. Offerings range from cookies and cakes to hot and iced drinks made by hand. And of course, you can purchase Hello Kitty merchandise.

Beyond the cafe area, there’s the Bow Room. Although it’s also very, very pink, this spot offers afternoon tea as well as evening cocktails. Advance reservations are required for the afternoon tea and the cocktail offerings. And by the way, parents: The cocktail aspect of Hello Kitty is limited to adults only.

The official Hello Kitty Cafe Instagram account used the hashtag #supercute to sum up the adorable factor.

Can we talk cute?

The Hello Kitty Grand Cafe in Irvine is unique in becoming the first permanent cafe for the company, according to USA Today. The publication pointed out that the eatery’s roots come from “kawaii,” which is the Japanese culture of cuteness.

Anything miniature instantly gets more adorable, while pink has become the universal color for cute items. Add in kitties, and eating a hot mini doughnut in the pink kitty-focused decor of the Hello Kitty Grande Cafe just takes us into purrfectly precious paradise.

Meowing for a menu

So what exactly is on the meow menu? You can purr up an order of character mini-cakes. There are four tiny cakes for $15, and they are designed to resemble different Sanrio characters.

For an afternoon with your friends or family, consider an afternoon tea. The service, at $55 each, includes tea sandwiches, fruits, sweet treats, and tea. Both the tea and cocktails are offered in the Bow Room, which Sanrio describes as a “hidden pink oasis.”

For the perfect date night, you might also want to consider heading to the Bow Room. The Hello Kitty cocktails for adults age 21 and over include from the Pink Bow (gin, raspberry, lemon, liquor 43, aquafaba) and the Aloha Kitty (vodka, pineapple, yellow chanteuse, lime).
