Constance Wu

In the wake of Crazy Rich Asians‘ extremely positive reception, there has been a huge social media campaign demanding Constance Wu host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.

Crazy Rich Asians has turned out insane box office results, and fans note that Wu’s lead role in the film, charismatic personality, and ability to diversify SNL‘s host history are solid reasons to give her the gig. In the shows 40+ year history, there’s never been someone in the cast who identified as Asian. As the show has become a mix of comedy and political commentary, it’d be a missed opportunity not to listen to this campaign and have Wu host.

Now we’re not just pushing for Wu because of the campaign alone or her ability to bring change to SNL. She can easily make you laugh out loud, proving so with her role of Jessica Huang on Fresh Off the Boat and recently, her ridiculous scenes with Awkwafina in Crazy Rich Asians.

We’re ready for more Constance Wu and we hope SNL gets the hint.
