Year 5, chapter 1 sees the return of the Dark Wizard who attacks Ben Copper, the student many of us suspected of being the Dark Wizard in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
After the attack occurs, the Dark Wizard proclaims that someone will soon die taking part in the Cursed Vaults quest. No name was given as to who it would be.
According to Game Rant, that character is unlikely to be Ben Cooper since the Dark Wizard had the chance to kill him, leaving the only viable possibility being Merula.

Their theory suggests since she is a character who is not tied to anything where players need to unlock content, i.e. eating with friends, playing a game of gob stones, etc. It would be easier for Jam City to have her killed off without having to worry about affecting any future gameplay.
Considering that Merula was originally a major antagonist but has become a fan favorite amongst players, it would be more meaningful to have her killed off rather than some random character.
It’s certainly a good theory, and one that makes a ton of sense. So, we will need to sit back and keep an eye out on this one and see if Merula will be leaving us some time in the future.
