Mark Ruffalo revealed in an interview that reshoots for Avengers 4 will actually finish up the movie and might be more extensive than previously thought.
Reshoots for Avengers 4 are happening right now, and more and more news about what is going on is starting to come in. We have to say that we are excited, and we can’t wait to hear all the fan theories that come along with new set photos like the ones of Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Paul Rudd.
While at first it was assumed that the cast and crew were doing standard reshoots and minimal changes to the film, according to Mark Ruffalo, these shoots are going to be a lot more in-depth. In fact, it sounds like they are actually going to be finishing Avengers 4 in these shoots as they didn’t have time to do so previously.
Mark Ruffalo appeared on an episode of The Marvelists podcast; he was able to talk to them about filming and what was going on behind the scenes when the two movies were made.
He started saying that the cast would start reshoots in September but then corrected that statement to say the filming was going to be more significant than that:
"Well, we’re doing reshoots starting in September. And then we’ll go back into the international tour… Then you guys will get the second installment, which we don’t even know what it’s gonna be yet. We’re not just doing reshoots, we’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year."
It makes sense that some aspects of the movie will change in reshoots. But, this sounds like more important changes will happen than expected. But, as Ruffalo also points out, the story can change quickly, even while they are filming:
"I don’t even know that they really know exactly. Some of it is happening while we’re there. It’s pretty amazing. And we’ll shoot some stuff and a few days later come back and reshoot it cause we wanna take it in another direction. It’s a very living organism, even as we approach it being a locked picture, we’re still working on it."
We aren’t sure if we should be excited or scared, to be honest. It is rumored that changes might be made to the film now that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been put on indefinite hold. It also makes sense that seeing fan reactions to Black Panther and Avengers 4 could have some impact on the film as they plan for the future of the MCU.
It looks like trying to figure out what is going to happen in Avengers 4 might be even more difficult than we thought! How do you think Avengers 4 will end?
