Jude Law is set to appear in Captain Marvel, get a good look at the actor switch from a young Professor Dumbledore to Starforce commander.
Captain Marvel is the first female-led superhero movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Set in the 90s, it stars Brie Larson as the titular character, but there’s also a Fantastic Beasts star to look out for. Jude Law is fighting by the side of the part-Kree, part-human superhero.
There’s no shortage of superhero movies. However, one thing is for certain: there’s a shortage of female-led superhero movies. DC started to make a change with Wonder Woman a couple of years ago and now it’s Marvel’s turn. Captain Marvel is heading to theaters next year, but there’s a Fantastic Beasts star to look out for: Jude Law.

Young Albus Dumbledore is transporting himself into the 90s to fight side-by-side with the part-Kree, part-human superhero. He’s going to be there to support (and sort of mould) the first Marvel female superhero to get her own movie.
Law plays the Starforce commander, who views Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) as a pet project. He sees her powers as a blessing, but she needs to control them and that’s where he steps in. Quite honestly, Law’s character sounds just like Albus Dumbledore, but with superheroes and aliens instead of witches and wizards.

Jude Law shared with Entertainment Weekly, which released the first-look images of the exciting superhero movie, that the motive throughout Captain Marvel is controlling emotions to use powers wisely. There are certainly some similarities in the story to Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter.
And if that wasn’t enough to link to Fantastic Beasts, Jude Law is playing another character set in the past. Granted, this time he’s only two decades in the past (wait, that makes me feel old!) rather than eight decades (or a century considering Sherlock Holmes), but it’s still the past. And this certainly helps to explain how Captain Marvel can air in between the two major Avenger movies without throwing timelines or causing major loopholes.
There are many other takeaways from Entertainment Weekly’s first-look images, but nothing that link to Jude Law. We can expect to see a digitally de-aged Samuel L. Jackson to play the role of Nick Fury sans eye patch.
