First footage from This Is Us season 3 has us breaking out the tissues already
Footage and commentary about the upcoming season of This Is Us gives a lot of insights about what to expect from the series, and we can’t wait!
Teaser footage from season 3 of This Is Us was released today, and we are already getting ready to face a lot of tears as we watch the upcoming season.
The series returns on Sept. 25, after a six-month break. The hiatus has been kind of brutal, and we can’t wait to see what the season has in store for the Big Three, and for Rebecca and Jack. The season, just like the past two, is going to premiere on the birthday of the Big Three.

From the footage, we get a little bit of a taste of what is to come. Season 2 ended with Kate and Toby’s wedding, and with the introduction of a future storyline featuring Tess (Randall’s daughter) as an adult. From the teaser, we see that Kate decides she wants to try again to have a baby. There seems to be more drama to come with this storyline as the footage shows a scene with Kate blowing out a candle and wishing for a baby and then saying, “I wish for a baby… but you’re right, Madison, it won’t come true.”
Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore talk about how we will see more of Jack and Rebecca before the Big Three. Moore says we’ll see the two “sort of at the very beginning of their courtship, picking up from the night they first met, and how they spent the rest of that evening.” We are definitely excited to see more of their courtship, and Ventimiglia also says we will see more about Jack’s past in the Vietnam War.
At the end of season 2, we also saw Kevin with Beth’s cousin, Zoe, and it looks like Beth is not very happy about this development.
As far as the Randall and Tess mystery at the end of season 2 (where Randall tells her, “It’s time to go see her, Tess”), Sterling Brown promises that we will learn who this her is at some point in this season.
