Dave Bautista can’t stop talking about James Gunn
After all of the controversy with James Gunn, the GOTG Vol. 3 is on hold indefinitely, and Dave Bautista can’t stop talking about it.
If you’re a Marvel fan, you’ve likely been made aware of what’s going on with Guardians of the Galaxy and director James Gunn. Disney fired James Gunn after tweets of his resurfaced making jokes about pedophilia. The Guardians cast has since released a letter coming out in support of Gunn and asking Disney to rehire him. Disney’s stood firm though on their decision to remove Gunn.
Dave Bautista, who plays Drax, has been the most vocal of these actors in providing his support. He has posted tweets about Gunn multiples times. Most recently, Bautista expressed appreciation for the director and says that he changed his life. Bautista has threatened to walk away from Guardians altogether and not return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as Drax.
Batista recently appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show and said,
"I love James. James really changed my life, so it’s a personal thing too.I struggled, I starved for three years, I could barely get a job. There were a few people who believed in me along the way, but James was the one who really changed the course of my life."
Many fans have not been thrilled with Bautista’s support of Gunn, and it does seem that his approach of threatening to leave is not being met well by fans or by anyone making the big decisions. Without wading too far into the controversy, it does seem like it is time for him to stop tweeting so much about this, at the very least.
Bautista also revealed on the show that there are apparently issues with his return, so time will tell if he does return or if the film is made.
“I have an issue, I have a moral and a political issue with what they’ve done. I have been very vocal about the way I feel and I’m not afraid to admit the way I feel. That’s the way I feel.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has already been placed on hold indefinitely. While many fans are saddened by this, it does possibly leave open a quicker return of other films such as Black Panther 2.
