New skins are available for your pets in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery in the latest update by developers Jam City.

Pets have been around in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery for a little while now. Jam City brought out the option of having an owl, cat, toad or rat by your side as you attend Hogwarts almost two months ago but now pet skins are available enabling you to give your pet a whole new look.

Three cat skins, two owl skins, two toad and two rat skins are available in the latest update and you can purchase them via either coins or gems.

Regular players will already know that coins are not a major issue to come by; it’s the gems that are an issue. Gems cost money, there are ways to get gems for free, but the main way to get them is by spending your hard earned cash.

Now it will be all down to you, whether it is worth opening up your wallet, or purse, and splurging out on a skin or two; to give you an idea of the cost, a cat skin will set you back about $9.99 worth of gems.

It’s similar to when pets were first introduced, some people loved it and happily bought a pet, some even bought more than one. However, on the other hand, some people were not happy with the introduction of the pets, or more specifically, with the idea of having to buy one rather than earning one.
