Nip/Tuck

Christian Troy and Sean McNamara are big shot plastic surgeons in Miami, and you’d think that’d be enough for Nip/Tuck. But this is TV, thus we have to add in a serial killer, unknown parentage, misdiagnosed breast cancer for Christian… This show is an experience.

The show was the start of the Ryan Murphy era on FX. With huge turnouts week after week, we were continually floored by how amazing — and how ludicrous — Nip/Tuck could be. Natasha is a character whose story really stuck out because she manages to show Christian what beauty really meant. The show points out what beauty means to society, while also providing insightful commentary on what everyone’s standards are.

Nip/Tuck went on for much too long and ended up having some ridiculous storylines towards the end (including Christian being misdiagnosed with breast cancer and giving up his entire life because of it  … until he finds out that he is perfectly healthy).

That doesn’t stop us from missing the show though. With every new Ryan Murphy creation, we’re reminded of the golden age of Nip/Tuck and how we fell in love with Christian Troy  — even though he was an absolutely terrible character that none of us should aspire to be.
