What happens to the students of Hogwarts when they’re home for the summer?

Being home for the summer can be quite fun but what does it mean for the students of Hogwarts? Do they get to watch television and go online?

Hogwarts doesn’t have wifi, that much has been established. So, for the better part of the year, students have no idea what is going on in television, entertainment, or the news. Which, seems like maybe a mistake but then again, it is Hogwarts.

At the school, they can’t exactly have wizards tweeting about classes but then again, most of what we know about Hogwarts was prior to the social media craze. So Harry and his friends never really had to worry about their streaming programs or how many likes they were getting on a picture.

But with Albus and Scorpius in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, there has to be a level of internet involvement. We’re always so plugged in that selling it that the children at Hogwarts have no connection online in interesting.

So it begs the question: What happens in the summer? Do these kids go home and just study for the upcoming year or, like a lot of the youths today, do they spend time online and watching television and movies?

After all, they have a lot to catch up on so maybe they just binge watch away but then, going back to school, they’d fall behind again. It is a weird plothole that most probably don’t even think about but still it’d be funny to see Hogwarts students talking about the latest season of Stranger Things when they come back to school.
