Infinity War deleted scene could be a sweet nod to Robert Downey Jr.’s anniversary

Reddit is at it again and has found an adorable nod to Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan, in an Infinity War deleted scene.

Avengers: Infinity War was a lot of things. At times devastating, hilarious, and heartwarming, it was also hugely successful. But, even though Marvel spends a lot of money and makes grand, impressive movies, some of the most successful moments in these movies are the character interactions and the small details put into them.

Many of the small moments, including dialogue and set design, offer clues or have some meaning behind them. Fans of Marvel loves to find those little Easter eggs (like the one in Black Panther), and one Reddit user found another one in an Infinity War deleted scene.

The scene is between Pepper and Tony Stark when they discuss their future together (the future we hope they can have together) in the park, but something completely sweet got cut out. In the deleted scene, Pepper Potts mentions a date (August 27), which is actually the day that Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan, got married on in 2005.

"Happy Anniversary to Robert and Susan Downey! (IW deleted scene) from marvelstudios"

This is a small but adorable detail, and just goes to show how well thought out some of these scenes are. While this particular moment did not make it into the movie, we are glad it got included as a deleted scene. The fact that they include this cute detail and tie it into Downey’s real-life relationship is quite endearing and sweet.

The marriage storyline has been teased since Spider-Man: Homecoming and was followed through on in Infinity War. We will have to wait until Avengers 4 to see if Tony and Pepper actually do tie the knot… or if their story ends in a more devastating way. There are a lot of possibilities here, but we think that at the very least, Tony deserves to have a happy ending. Don’t let him or Pepper die!

Fans keep looking for the smallest details as we wait for the release of Captain Marvel and then Avengers 4. We have to have something to keep ourselves occupied in the meantime. What is your favorite Tony/Pepper moment in the movies?
