Gravity Falls’ Alex Hirsch is teaming up with Netflix for new developments and we can’t wait

The creator of the popular show is coming to Netflix soon to create new content in addition to his previous works seen on Disney Channel.

It’s finally happening, friends! Alex Hirsch, writer, actor, producer, and creator of the amazingly funny and creative show Gravity Falls is joining forces with Netflix. Recently, news came out that Hirsch signed a deal with Netflix to create new movies and shows for the streaming service.

This multi-talented individual has also contributed to shows such as The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Fish Hooks as well as the upcoming movies Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Detective Pikachu, which are set to release in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing roster of talent coming to Netflix”, said Hirsch in s Netflix press release. “Plus it couldn’t hurt to be on The Algorithm’s good side before The Singularity hits. Awesome things are coming!”

According to SyFy, sources say that this new deal with Netflix will include the development of animated shows and movies for a more adolescent demographic. However, Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content for Netflix, tells a different story.

Holland revealed the Gravity Falls creator may go down a different route and create more adult-oriented animations for the streaming service, “Alex is an imaginative storyteller with new ideas who’s quickly developed a reputation as a fresh new voice in animation,” said Holland.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with him as we continue expanding our adult animated slate.”

It’s definitely safe to say that no matter what content he creates, we’ll be excited to watch it. Knowing what the actor/producer is capable of, we’re sure that it will be just as amazing as his other contributions to the world of animation.
