Sherlock Holmes 3 is set for release in 2020, and Jude Law had a teaser to share with fans about the relationship between Holmes and Watson in the film.

While there have been many adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes over the years, especially recently, the Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law version is definitely a fan favorite. While RDJ’s role as Iron Man in the MCU has been his priority, a third Sherlock film featuring the investigative duo is headed for theaters in 2020.

Fans of Sherlock Holmes and of these actors are looking forward to the third installment.
Details about the plot were recently given by Jude Law in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He talks about how the film will focus on the difficulties that Sherlock and Watson face when they are separated.

"We hope to propel the story forward. As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We’re going to examine — since it’s been several years since we’ve seen them — we’re going to play up the fact that they haven’t seen each other for a long time either."

If you ask us, this plotline sounds like a shipper’s dream, and we are here for it. The first two films deal with Watson attempting to break free of the chaos Sherlock brought into his life, while trying to focus on living in domestic bliss with his wife. It looks like the third film will stick somewhat with this central theme but follow the thread over a longer time period.

Earlier this week, RDJ also shared a tweet teasing the upcoming movie.

While Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal on the BBC version has been the freshest take on Sherlock, the RDJ/Jude Law version is just as enjoyable. Many fans are looking forward to this last installment and for the two of them to work together again.

I mean, just look at those tweets. The chemistry and adorableness between the two of them is undeniable.
