25 best music video looks of the year (so far)

It has been a great year for music videos, and an even better year for all the looks in those videos. Here’s what some of the best are… so far.

Music videos have come a long way over the decades. Some may see it as a lost art, especially with music channels like MTV playing less and less actual music and more scripted content and reality shows. But there’s still a beauty to music videos that can never be beaten. Sometimes they are like complex short films, an actual work of art, while others are just fun to watch and help elevate the original song. No matter the case, we will never give up on the art of music videos.

The best things about music videos, though, are the endless supply of fashionable looks that feed our soul. In a post-Lady Gaga world, artists have been stepping their game up more and more for their music videos, giving us haute couture looks and pristine aesthetics. Not every artist can pull off a “look” in their music video, and that’s fine, but these ladies (and gentlemen) know exactly what we wanted.

So far in 2018, we’ve gotten eye-popping fashion moments from artists like Janelle Monáe, Cardi B, Troye Sivan, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Cardi B (we know we mentioned her already, but she has had some serious looks so she deserves to be listed twice, okurrr?), and so many more. We’re going to need an oxygen tank to get through this list, because these stars are not giving us a chance to breathe!
