13. Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour

Yes, the “Ozzy” of Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour is, in fact, Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath fame. Sure, and also the Ozzy who became infamous for his hard-partying ways and, later, his rather bumbling persona on MTV’s The Osbournes.

Since The Osbournes had a lot of arguing and the kind of day-to-day family drama that could make you grind your teeth, it doesn’t quite earn a spot on this list. However, Ozzy and his son, Jack, weren’t always stuck on their MTV show. For a more relaxing take on their father-son dynamic (and with a bit of extra maturity thrown in there for good measure), head over to the History Channel.

Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour has a bit more structure than the show’s MTV cousin. Essentially, it’s a history road trip. That’s great for Jack and Ozzy, who, as it turns out, are pretty big history nerds. Together, they travel across the United States (and one episode each in the U.K. and Japan), visiting sites that are on their history “bucket list”.

Some of the sites are pretty big, including Mount Rushmore, Petroglyphs National Monument, and the Alamo. That last one caused some anxiety for Ozzy, considering his last visit to the Alamo was during his wild days as a younger touring musician. Spoiler alert: everything turned out fine.

Along the way, the pair also visit smaller, more out of the way features, from the UFO Museum to a camping trip in Arizona. In the third season, daughter Kelly Osbourne joins in the fun, too.
