Will it be 2018 or 2019? When will Niantic launch the highly anticipated Harry Potter: Wizards Unite?
The creators of Pokemon GO have been teasing us for some time about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. We thought Niantic would have released it by now but it is still nothing more than a dream. So when will they release it? Will Harry Potter: Wizards Unite launch in 2018? Or 2019?
Well annoyingly, there is plenty of information to say it will be 2018, but equally, there is plenty to suggest 2019 as well.

In a very recent interview, Niantic’s Head of product Marketing explained that they plan to launch Harry Potter: Wizards Unite at the end of the year. However, this was the only thing she could say about the game.
This is of course very exciting to hear but it conflicts with an earlier report with John Hanke, the CEO of Niantic, who is quoted saying that they do not want to release the game until it is ready. There is no release date set and it very well could be this year but it also could be next year.

Now Hanke is quoted saying this some time ago; whereas the interview with Niantic’s Head of Product Marketing is much more recent. Much could have happened in between those two interviews and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite could be ready now and they plan to release at the end of the year.
But at the end of the day, this is all speculation. All we have is two people, one saying yes it will be this year, another saying, maybe it will, maybe it won’t. There is just not enough information to call it.
I will be keeping my fingers crossed it will become available at the end of this year, but honestly, right at this moment; I am not getting my hopes up.
