Fancy winning your next duel in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery? Then check out these tips to help you become a master in duelling.

So, you’re going head to head with your opponent and you desperately want to overthrow them. You want to cast them aside and rise up, triumph, as the duelling master of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Well, while there is no 100% full proof way at winning every single duel you participate in. There are some little tips that will help improve your chances.

Number one is getting the stance right. Come out ahead on this and you’re already off to a flying start.

Now if you have already duelled before then you will be aware of how this works, but for those who haven’t let’s take a quick moment and look at the stances. You have:

• Aggressive
• Defensive
• Sneaky

And it’s pretty much like playing a game of rock, paper, scissors. You each choose one of the three and positions and keep your fingers crossed you choose the right one.

• Aggressive beats Sneaky
• Sneaky beats Defensive
• Defensive beats Aggressive

Now considering that the Duelling Club is not a one hit and it is over type match you play this magical round of rock, paper, scissors several times. So the first thing you need to do is figure out what stance your opponent likes.

If they keep choosing one particular pattern over and over it will become apparent fast, and then you can pick the correct stance to counter them.

If they like to shift stances and keep you guessing, they will likely not pick the same two in a row. Therefore your chance of getting it right goes down to 50/50.

However, if you can’t guess the pattern then it’s likely your opponent is doing what you are doing and therefore it is down to just luck.

When it comes to casting your spells there are some better choices than others. It is going to boil down to what year you are in though. The higher your year the more spells you have access to. If you have access to the spell then Depulso is the way to go. However, this is only available in the Aggressive Stance so bear that in mind. Don’t become too predictable by going for Aggressive all of the time though otherwise you too will be predictable and therefore picked off rather easily.

And that is all there is to it really; for now anyway. I will routinely update this page each time I learn more, but for now, it is all about getting the stance right and choosing the right spell.
