Tigger Tail pretzel rods

If you’re looking for sugary treats that will send you bouncing off the walls, just like a certain Winnie the Pooh character we all love, try making these Tigger Tail pretzel rods. Based off of a popular treat from Disneyland, these are fun for parties and easy to decorate.

On top of pretzel rods, all you’ll need is caramel, orange candy melts, orange sprinkles, and cocoa candy melts. After coating the pretzels in caramel and melted orange candy, you add sprinkles for effect and cocoa lines for the tiger stripes. Of course, you can always use orange icing, if caramel isn’t really your thing.

"Ingredients 15 pretzel rods 2 (13.4 ounce) cans Dulce de Leche from Nestlé 1 (12 ounce) bag orange candy melts 1 tablespoon shortening 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream orange sugar spinkles (about 6 ounces) 1 cup dark chocolate candy melts 1/2 tablespoon shortening Instructions Note about the Dulce de Leche:  You only need one can.  Using two makes the dipping process a lot easier. Cut the whipping cream to 1/8 a cup if you only use one can. For the Caramel Layer: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Scrap Dulce de Leche out of the cans and into a tall glass jar. Microwave 1 minute, stir and add heavy whipping cream. Heat an additional 30 seconds.  Stir caramel and whipping cream until combined. Dip pretzel in warm caramel. Tap off any excess. The best way to tap off the extra caramel is to hold the pretzel at almost an upright position but still tilted enough to that when you tap the caramel will fall into the jar. As you tap work your way down the pretzel by tapping on the edge of the jar. Place on the prepared pan.  Once all the pretzels are coated with caramel place in the refrigerator and get started with melting the candy. For the Melted Candy Layer: Pour candy and 1 tablespoon of shortening either in a microwave safe bowl or a Wilton Candy Melting Pot. If using the microwave heat in 30 second intervals stirring between each (1 minute and 30 seconds). On another cookie sheet place a piece of parchment paper. Take the pretzels out of the refrigerator. Coat pretzels with melted candy. Tap on the edge of the bowl or melting pot. Once all the extra melted candy has dropped off the pretzel and while the candy is still wet pour sprinkles all over the pretzel and place on prepared pan. When all the pretzels have been coated with the melted candy and sprinkles. Place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator to harden (about 15 minutes). For the Dark Chocolate drizzle: Place a new piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Pour candy melts into a microwave safe bowl and heat until melted (about 1 minute and 30 seconds). Pour melted candy into a piping bag, snip the end and add stripes to the pretzel. Place the pretzels onto the prepared pan. Once all the pretzels have been stripped place the cookie in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes)."
