1968 – 2001: A Space Odsessy

A Kubrick masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odysessy changed the way that many viewed cinema. Written by both Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke, it is wildly known as one of the greatest movies ever made.

Changing the way we see movies, it was an aesthetic masterpiece that helped to form the way movies are made even today. With a runtime of 2 hours and almost 30 minutes, it managed to bring space to life in a way we’ve never seen before. Which, when you think about it, is amazing since at this point, we hadn’t even had anyone walk on the moon yet.

Following the ship Discovery One’s trip to Jupiter, the movie is a mysterious look at the future and what space exploration can lead to. Which, if you like the idea of living in space someday, then this movie is definitely one that might grab your attention.

Then again, it is just one of those movies that everyone has to see once. It isn’t called the greatest movie that has ever been made because it’s just fine. It is a nearly perfect film and one of Kubrick’s greatest works. So it’s no surprise that the greatest and most popular movie out of 1968 was 2001: A Space Odysessy.
