Tyra Banks

To say Tyra Banks had a “music career” is a bit of a stretch, but so is saying she’s an actress, so just roll with it. The supermodel and businesswoman has worn a lot of hats over the years, from high fashion model to Victoria’s Secret Angel to creator of America’s Next Top Model and even the host of her own daytime talk show. But she just couldn’t resist trying her hand at music.

Tyra’s first foray into music was with the movie Life-Size in 2000. The Wonderful World of Disney TV movie featured Tyra as a doll named Eve, who comes to life to help out a young girl in need, played by Lindsay Lohan. After playing around with some weird witchcraft, Casey (Lohan) ends up bringing her Eve doll to life, which is especially awkward considering she didn’t want the doll to begin with.

The Eve Doll, like every good children’s toy, had a catchy jingle to go with it, and Tyra sang the Eve theme song in Life-Size. “Eve’s great, no matter where she goes. Dress her up, from her head to her toes. On the town, at the mall, Eve loves high fashion!” Did Tyra prove herself as a powerful vocalist? Definitely not. But it was fun and cheesy, and so delightfully Disney that you couldn’t help but love it and sing along.

Tyra recorded another single, titled “Shake Ya Body”, this time for her show America’s Next Top Model. It also wasn’t great, but clearly, Tyra wasn’t aiming to become a singer full-time or anything. She also recorded a song with basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, titled “K.O.B.E.” The duo performed the single live on NBA TV, and let’s just say they should keep their famous day jobs.
