Cold brew coffee might be a relatively new thing at Starbucks, but the coffee chain is hitting the ground running with new offerings.

Starbucks is known for offering new seasonal drinks and being innovative with their different options for caffeinating the world. Their newest announcement has not only cold brew lovers rejoicing, but vegans as well.

If you are looking for a new caffeinated drink, Starbucks has the perfect option for you thanks to their two new protein blended cold brews.

On top of being delicious beverages, they are also a great option for vegans or anyone looking to cut back on milk based products. These protein blended cold brews come in either cacao or almond, and are made with alternative milk, Starbucks’ cold brew coffee, and plant-based proteins. That makes them the perfect non-dairy drink for anyone looking to change things up, and considering they are only about 270 calories for a grande, you won’t be cheating on your diets.

Cold brew coffee joined the Starbucks family in 2015 and has been a favorite ever since. As the beverage’s popularity continues to grow, so do the different applications of the drink. From its Nitro cold brew to its cold foam, Starbucks continues to work on being innovative and cutting edge. With this plant-protein based drink on the menu, we can tack one more creative addition to their menu.

With the Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew, you get a delicious blend of flavors. This drink has almond milk, cold brew coffee, the plant-based protein, a banana date fruit blend, and almond butter, all mixed with ice and blended.

As for the Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew, it is a more chocolatey based drink like the mocha frappuccino. This time the drink is made with a coconut milk, the cold brew coffee, cacao powder, the plant-based protein, and the banana date fruit blend. Again these are all mixed with ice and blended for a perfect summer drink to sip on.

For people looking to customize their drink, you can switch things up as well. Maybe you don’t want the banana date fruit blend and would rather a whole banana be used? Your barista can certainly do that. You can also ask for more almond butter or cacao powder in order to adjust the taste, or if you are really looking for a wow factor, mix the two together.

Plus if you need an extra boost to your morning, you can request more caffeine with espresso shots!
