Jayce Conway and Angie Blumberg wanted their dog with them on the most important day of their lives. But they had no idea Boone would steal the show.

You expect all eyes to be on you when you say “I do” at your wedding. It’s your big day. But for one Illinois couple, all eyes were on the dog.

Jayce Conway and Angie Blumberg got a hilarious surprise when their dog and best man Boone photobombed them during their nuptials in Big Sky, Montana. Rather than sitting for a dignified shot during the opening prayer, the Labrador Retriever just couldn’t resist rolling around in the grass and making funny faces, and completely stole the show in the process.

“He’s a really well-trained dog,” Conway told Today. “I planned for him to stand between me and my brother. Boone was technically the best man, but he couldn’t really give a speech so I thought I should give my brother a shot.”

Things were going well at first, according to the couple. Boone dutifully sat where he was supposed to while the wedding party walked down the aisle. But then he saw Blumberg and all bets were off. He just had to run over to her. Then, during the wedding ceremony, Boone got bored and just couldn’t resist wandering off and rolling in the grass. How was he supposed to know there was a wedding going on?

And that’s when the photographer, Chris Davis from Good Road Co, snapped the perfect shot. Mouth open, rolling around in the grass, completely oblivious to the ceremony happening behind him, Boone stole the hearts of everyone at the wedding. Even the pastor couldn’t help but laugh. Soon everyone online saw that perfect photobomb.

Of course, Conway and Blumberg wouldn’t have it any other way. They laughed out loud when they found out the picture of their pup had gone viral.

Speaking with The Dodo, Conway explained that he and Boone have been inseparable since he got Boone as a puppy. When Conway and Blumberg got together, Boone was always a part of their dates.

Boone had been a special part of their lives, so of course, he had to be a part of the wedding. And he just couldn’t miss out on getting his perfect wedding shot.
