Simon Pegg

Simon Pegg is easily one of the nerdiest actors out there. If it wasn’t for his own film series, a trilogy that he wrote with his friend, Nick Frost, then it would definitely be known from his love of Star Wars and Star Trek.

The actor starred as Montgomery Scott, or Scottie, in the reboot of the Star Trek series and when it came to stars who knew the material, the geekiness came from him and Karl Urban (who plays Bones). But Pegg took his love of all things Star Trek by taking on writing Star Trek: Beyond. Which, arguably, is the best film out of the series so far.

Which is a bit upsetting since the news that Chris Pine may not stay on as Captain Kirk has emerged because this cast, and specifically Pegg, truly love and understand these characters. But Pegg’s love isn’t just for Scottie, it’s for every character and to see his appreciation and understanding of the series with Star Trek: Beyond makes us love him even more.

Simon Pegg is a great actor and is starring in more and more amazing films but just remember, if you mention Star Wars or Star Trek near him, he will want to talk to you.
