Gal Gadot joins Ralph Breaks The Internet cast as a fierce street racer

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot races towards the Wreck-It Ralph sequel to voice her new character with a fittingly fierce name.

Gisele, is that you? Just kidding, Gadot isn’t reprising her Fast & Furious role.

Instead, the actress of Wonder Woman fame is headed to Disney, revealing today she’s joining the Ralph Breaks The Internet cast as a tough street racer named Shank. The name alone previews a pretty intense addition to the fairly lighthearted gang set to star in Thanksgiving’s sequel to Wreck-It Ralph.

Gadot shared a preview of her adrenaline-seeking character and honestly, Shank looks like pretty bad-ass for a Disney character. Just check her out: leather jacket, hands gripping the wheel, and oh yeah, that’s a dagger tattoo on her left arm.

As Gadot mentioned, Shank is a part of the online racing game Slaughter Race. Her appearance in the film is described as follows:

"Ralph and Vanellope encounter Shank and her unusual cohorts when they venture to the internet in search of a replacement part for Vanellope’s game, “Sugar Rush.” Shank has a reputation as a tough-as-nails street racer, and Vanellope finds herself up against her."

Director Rich Moore said via a press release that Shank is “the coolest character in this world of Slaughter Race.” He added that though Shank’s definitely seen “plenty” — plenty of what, we can only imagine with such a dark game title — but “shes got nothing but kindness in her heart — that’s the duality of that character.”

Gadot also shared her insight to her character, saying:

"Shank is amazing at driving cars and has this bad-girl vibe to her. But as the movie goes on you realize how fun, wise and warm she really is on the inside, which is what I like most about her."

Ralph director and writer Phil Johnston noted that Shank will have a unique relationship with Vanellope as she could be a “big-sister figure” the way Ralph has been V’s “big-brother figure.” Johnston noted that Gadot’s been someone who kids, and adults, have looked up to already. Thus it wasn’t hard to choose her as the actress to play Shank.

Gadot has already offered us an incredible female role model with her role as Wonder Woman. Fans are more than eager now to see her play another powerful female, especially in a Disney film.
