Cher’s cover of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! has fans in all kinds of emotional states

While she is in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Cher is also putting out an entire album of ABBA covers. Today, she released Gimme Gimme and it is perfect.

Cher was clearly a big deal in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, stealing the show with her maybe 10 minutes of screen time in total. She is one of the reasons many went to see the film in the first place. What’s even better is the singing legend was so moved by the spirit of ABBA that she decided to do an entire album of covers from the band.

On Wednesday, Cher released her cover of “Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)” and it truly is the most Cher an ABBA song could get. So yes, we’ll be listening to this on repeat.

Is this going to be the entire album? Just very Cher-ified versions of the songs we know and love so well? If so, hurry up and release them all already! Fans agree, reacting in all kinds of ways to the 40 second clip.

Cher’s been posting more and more on her Twitter account about what songs to expect and really, Cher singing “S.O.S”? Can we buy it on vinyl now?

Then again, Cher could release an album that is just her singing “Happy Birthday” on a loop and we’d probably all scream about it for days. She has the kind of vocals singers dream of, and mix that with the magnetism that is an ABBA power ballad and we’re in for quite the ride.

All this song release has done is make us even more excited for her cover album. We want it now, Cher!
