The season finale of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger doesn’t slow down for even a moment. Buckle in for all of the action you could ever want!

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the season 1 finale of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. Are you also excited to see what this episode has in store for us? Then let’s not dawdle any longer and jump right into it.

Not-So-Short Summary and Analysis

The episode starts out with a great blindsiding moment. As Tandy gets ready to play her hand against the Roxxon assassin, her mother jabs a giant-ass knife into the assassin’s shoulder. Tandy takes off to take care of her friends (Mina and her dad, probably Tyrone).

Unfortunately, when she finds Mina, Mina breaks the bad news about the amount of valves around town and the amount of Terrors that will come from this. They try their hardest to make it to the core to manually shut down the pressure valves, but Mina gets touched by a Terror.

Tyrone fares worse than Tandy to start off the episode. He barely escapes from the cops, only to get cornered by them, arrested, and get O’Reilly arrested as well. It gets even worse when he can’t make his powers work without his cloak on.

Too bad a bunch of Terrors show up to ruin Connors’ fun with O’Reilly and Tyrone. They both escape to fight against the insanity, but Tyrone ends up teleporting to Tandy’s side. Perfect timing to tase Mina!

This episode is really non-stop with the action. It slows down a bit in the aftermath, as Tyrone realizes his cloak is destroyed. But not for long, because Evita shows up to tell them about their fate.

Heck, Cloak and Dagger even gives Tyrone and Tandy a heart-to-heart conversation! Where Tandy inspires Tyrone to stop being afraid of his own shadow. She gives him Billy’s hoodie as his new cloak, and they are back to being badass.

It gets even better when Connors shows up after killing O’Reilly and kicking her into the ocean. Slicing his gun in half and dangling him over the edge of a building. And—holy crap—Tyrone absorbs Connors! I mean… holy crap. That’s got to come back at some point, right?

Tyrone tries to make the sacrifice move in the core room; Tandy shows up to make them do it together. Because they realize it’s the same exact energy as when they touch, only they can counteract it. And they do, saving New Orleans.

We see where the episode leaves us: Tandy moves back in with her mom (as Roxxon’s responsibility in the rig explosion comes to light) and Tyrone moves into Tandy’s old church, still on the run.

Finally we get one of these! Detective O’Reilly rises from the water, looking creepy as ever. Welcome our season 2 villain: Mayhem!

Badass Moment of the Week

So many! For so many reasons! Tyrone’s heartwarming speech to the cop. Tandy’s mom stabbing the assassin. Their first fight scene together in the real world! Tandy slicing Connors’ gun in half with a light dagger!

Best One-Liner

“Listen—I’m gonna try to sneak you out the back,” Tyrone’s dad begins, trailing off as he turns around to find that Tyrone’s already gone.

Can I just say that the whole opening scene with Evita’s auntie explaining the past was totally lost on me? Any version of “Come Sail Away” just reminds me of South Park. I actually couldn’t even focus on the last bit of the episode because of it.

We also get a fun shoutout to both Tony Stark and Danny Rand, two other MCU properties that will also never cross with this one!

The whole episode is framed with Evita’s auntie talking about all of the divine pairings throughout the years. I personally like the one about the War of 1812 and getting the message to Andrew Jackson to cease fire (since the Battle of New Orleans technically took place after the war ended).

Related Story. Even Paul Rudd seems unsure about future Ant-Man and the Wasp sequels. light

That’s it for season 1 of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. Yes, there is a season 2 on the horizon. We’ll be back with Tandy and Tyrone in the spring of 2019!
